32.99 ***
2000 Chateau Lagrange, St. Julien
cherry, raspberry, cassis, more red fruit than black. Soft tannin - so - ws
48.99 ****
2000 Chateau Pontet-Canet, Pauillac
smoky, currant, black fruit, balanced, long finish. I had thought this was a powerful wine in a previous tasting a few months' back. Now that I have tasted the rest of the 2000 Bordeauxs, this is nothing! - so - ws
59.99 ****
2000 Chateau Margaux, Margaux
blackcherry, sage, complex, balanced, soft tannins, med finish. I do not detect the 70-second finish as described by RP. I think this is outrageously overpriced. The Trotanoy is a somewhat better wine... so is the 2001 Caymus Special Selection. The notes may be skewed because I was poured the very last ounce of a bottle opened for a few hours. - so - ws
449.99 *****
