K&L Saturday Tasting: Bordeaux 2006/11/25

 Year  Wine  Price  Rating
2005 Reynon Old Vines Blanc, Bordeaux
When I got in K&L's Tasting Room, this was the first wine poured. This wine was corked. I told Ralph Sands, he admitted he hadn't tasted them yet. He tasted and agreed it was heavily corked and thanked me! I wonder if the earlier customers liked the wine?? The 2nd bottle is quite fine: Juicy pineapple, grass, good flavor, like candy. A great price too. - so - ws

2003 Chateau Margaux, Margaux
coffee jam, blackcurrant, fantasticly complex, earthy, finishing a bit short. Should improve with age. - so - ws
399.95 *****
2004 Chateau Lascombes, Margaux
currants, blackberry jam, coffee, slightly less complex than expected... may be the line up was not wise to put this after Chateau Margaux. Dry tannic finish. The vintage was clearly not a ripe hot one. 12.5% alcohol. - so - ws
