1997	Spring Mountain Cabernet, Spring Mountain A mature vintage still displaying traditional Spring Mountain cabernet characters which are actually less prominent in the newer 2002 vintage (which is excellent also but different). Lots of coffee and earth and ripe blackberry. Getting a bit thin possibly due to the age. - so - ws	39	****
2002	Joseph Phelps Insignia, Napa Valley Tannic in the beginning, turning to velvety currant and plum and toffee. With a second note of violet and pencil lead. Seems to be going into a dumb phase soon. - so - ws	120	*****
2004	Lewis Alec's Blend, Napa Valley Extremely powerful. Coarse but sweet tannin. Blackberry liqeur, orange peel, vanilla, licorice, anise, heavily oaked, ultra long finish. 70% syrah, 30% cabernet. - so - ws	52	*****
