2003 Le Bon Vin de la Napa Valley, Napa Valley
Made by a subsidiary of Sebastiani, this is a very pleasant wine with berries, herbs balanced with vanilla oak. It is simple but not watery. I bought it because it has a very interesting screw cap that I have not seen before. It is plastic and there is a narrow spiral strip for the drinker to pull and unscrew. It's a candidate as my general House Red! The label has Napa Valley written. This indicates at least 85% of grapes from Napa Valley. A good sign. Even though it has a high 13.5% alcohol, I downed a whole bottle without dizziness! Nice! - so - ws
