1996	Cinq Cepages, Sonoma County (Retro) From the famed vintage that was Wine Spectator #1 Wine Of The Year in 1999. Brought back memories of me, kko, poon lining up in St. Jean to buy one bottle at $27.99 and kk's disappointment to find them sold out the next day. kk bought it back later in Weimax. Not sure how much he paid. This wine still has the distinguished red currant, plummy nose, chocolaty with hints of tobacco unfolding, significantly integrated, med body, very pleasant. It does have a hint of tiredness in the form of an herbal tone. The 2002 unlike all those in between has come back to this style and should be worth trying, although at $60 now. - so - ws	27.99	****
2001	Quintessa, Napa Valley (Retro) Dark and fragrant. plummy, vanilla, astringent, tannic yet approachable. Very full body. Evolved into having a beautiful black truffle nose. Long finish. - so - ws	90	*****
2001	Monbousquet, St. Emilion (Retro) Silky and dusty. Smoky, bbq meat, blackcurrants, leather, mixed herbs. Restrained nose that indicates a lot of potential in a couple of years. - so - ws	70	****½
2000	Closerie Fourtet, St. Emilion (Retro) Clos Fourtet's second wine. Reminded me of the 2nd MMHWD Tournament when Crystal won by its first wine. This wine is less concentrated than the first wine. Paling in comparison with the other wines in the line up. Berries, earth, leather. Light to medium body. Pleasant. - so - ws	20	***
