1998 Rosemount Mountain Blue Shiraz-Cabernet, Mugee
Gar Ying Tze, smoky, concentrated, ink, bitter, tight, velvety, long but simple finish - so - ws

1995 Bollinger Grande Annee, Champagne
Champagne in the middle of reds. Not a bad thing for this concentration cuvee, especially with Thai seafood cake to match. Sweet, apple, caramel, v. concentrated, dried pineapple, peach. Some yeasty bread aroma in the beginning, gone in no time. More approachable than tasted a few years back which was more acidic. - so - ws
n/a *****
2001 Vergelegen Cabernet, Stellenbosch
concentrated, mint, mixed herbs, tea leaves, berries, violet, very pleasant. Not as jammy as first tasted (this is the third time, which happens to be better than the second). - so - ws

2002 Quinta Do Crasto Reserva Old Vines, Duro
Have I been drinking too much? I clearly smell "But See Banana" and bacon. It's probably the Thai finger food used to match with the Champagne and are stil on the table. Refer to previous entry of this same wine. That was a more accurate description. - so - ws

1998 Hardys Eileen Hardy Shiraz, Southern Australia
elegant, blueberry, mineral, a bit of curry, very interesting. Good concentration. Long finish. - so - ws
n/a ****½
1999 McWilliam's 1877 Cabernet-Shiraz, Australia
Interesting wine. Owned by Kinghim, kidnapped by Dad. Tonight we thoughot of not opening it. But WS said it's a $85 wine but having 78 points... I suggested we opened it. Mint, herbal, green tea, berry, long finish, earth, tobacco. Not unpleasant at all. I will give it 3 stars, which is usually at WS 85 point range. WS may be a bit off.
WS: 78 points. Extremely minty, vegetal and earthy. 100 cases made. (HS) - so -

We had some strong tea (Iron Goon Yum, I believe) to finish off. Just found out Lee See Chun said "Tea after wine hurts kidney." Let's remember not to do such combination from now on. I did fall sick quickly afterwards. Special note to 70. Please see: http://big5.xinhuanet.com/gate/big5/www.sx.xinhuanet.com/life/2004-04/05/content_1914505.htm - so - ws
